Bad News

I will keep this update short, we took Angel to her vets appointment on Monday for Xray's on her colon. We ideally wanted to find out what we are dealing with in terms of a potential megacolon, which would explain some of her digestion issues. It turns out she is actually looking remotely healthy in the gut, just some dehydration problems leading to constipation most likely.

Unfortunately, after more blood works and urine samples, Angel has been diagnoses with stage 4 kidney disease and will now be on end of life care. They have given us all the medications and fluids to make her as physically comfortable as we can, but the vet has given her a year at most. 

Naturally we are devastated, but now isn't the time for us to grieve, all that matters now is making sure our girl is comfortable and happy. Her new favourite vet (who she absolutely loves) was very upbeat about Angels health otherwise, saying that for a stage 4 senior cat, she looks bright and happy. I put that down to the love this girl has received since coming home with me all those years ago. 

I will make her last months with us the best she can have and will be in constant communication with our vet, they will take her back in for bloods in 4-6 months pending her health and in the meantime - and most importantly for us - she is staying home where she wants to be.

 Bulldog: Too Many Monsters has been my most successful book release to date. Quickest summary possible for those unfamiliar with the story; its a dystopic military horror set in the United Kingdom after being invaded by an unknown army. Residents are plunged into sick contests to see if they can survive against the mysterious, horrifying, hordes of monsters the invaders have brought with them. That's the elevator pitch.  I came up with the idea after having two dreams back to back that appeared identical, in similar vain as the mini-blurb above. Originally this was intended to be a short story, perhaps a couple of pages, instead this has morphed and oozed itself into a fleshed out series of horror books. New Life For This Stumbling Corpse

It's a Wednesday, the first in four weeks that I've had off, and guess what I did. I finally landed on that cursed mailing list that has been testing my patience and sanity for weeks. It's done. It's over. The beast of a chore is dead and buried six feet below alongside my aspirations to be a professional wrestler.  Oh, what could have been. I toyed with the ideas of Wix, Squarespace and yadda yadda yadda but none felt right. When did Bulldog become the enemy?

I am at the daunting midway point of a break from work. The days have trickled by as I mixed up seeing family, farting about in the local towns, playing Diablo 4 with the wife and finally getting my collective faecal matter together in the writing projects that lingered over my burnt out corpse. After having gone through stage zero of my eleven step plan to push book sales, and ideally become a more active writer and less active marketer, I have tidied up the established novels that I have published. Given them a fresh kick up the backside and turned my attention back to the always present task of finishing the Bulldog sequel (Bulldog 2: And Dead Mouths Open).  With the weight of this tarting up of my old works now complete, I have turned my attention to this unfinished follow up and the always nagging task of getting more visible reviews on Amazon to shift more books.
