Tough Week: Pushing Through

And we are back.

That was a tough week, if you read the last post you know that I had to take some time away from writing to care for Angel (my cat) because of a sudden emergency. Long story short; she was hospitalised after some serious constipation and has since been diagnosed with likely chronic kidney disease. She is home now and regaining her strength - with the help of some new meds - but it got really worrying there for a minute. We are just glad that our little chubby chicken is back home and hopefully on the mend.

Work was continuing during that week of torment, albeit I was off for some days to keep up with Angels recovery, we have a bunch of new dogs in at the rescue that kept me distracted from thinking about her for too long. Some puppies, a couple of boarders and scrappy little ball of energy called Nellie. The kennel work has been busy, lots of dogs that need some rehab in certain areas of their behaviour and with the weather getting warmer it should be a nice summer for working through their quirks.

Collapse of the Site

You might have noticed but the website changed. What happened was that I changed some code (already a massive risk with Blogger) and the entire backup for my structure became corrupted, unfortunately my knowledge only goes so far in this swamp so it was broken beyond repair. On the plus side, the site needed a tweak as the Amazon links needed to come down anyway, so silver lining is that it now looks clean as fuck again without any chance of Amazon getting affiliated with my stuff (roll on June).

I want this site to be the place where my readers, however many of you are still kicking around this ghost town, can find free stories to read and enjoy a quiet place away from people trying to sell you things. Because I don't know about you but I LOATHE being sold things, there is no escape from it these days and I don't want to add to your growing sale anxiety. You aren't a product to me little grubblings, you are readers.

I would love some feedback however on the free books currently up; Release and the Guinea Pig guide. I wanted to know if you find the PDF download more convenient than just having the story posted on the site? If so I can change this out so you don't need to download anything from here, I will check out the comments to see if anyone has an opinion.

Anything Else

Bulldog 3 is still plodding along, I am working currently on Sloane's chapters but as I am now looking away from the bright dooming insidious lights of Amazons KDP, I might start uploading these to the blog directly as chapters. Let me know again if you think this would be a good idea, I don't want to piss everyone off and waste my own time but uploading 500 chapters suddenly.

But I feel energised. Things are moving forward after a really terrible week that I spent moping around and crying for my little fluffball, I can see light again and have ideas buzzing around my skull for how to manage this Bulldog conundrum (call back to my most popular blog post).

Keep it salty and follow the sun, you creepy little ladybugs!
